The UNITE 2021 Annual Conference was held virtually over Zoom on Tuesdays through Thursdays during1-10 February 2022. We had a very successful conference with 59 paid user delegates, eight delegate speakers, five guest speakers, and 84 Unisys employees, the majority of which were Engineering staff supporting the conference sessions.
The conference agenda consisted of 39 sessions comprising 14 Unisys presentations, seven user-delegate presentations, five guest-speaker presentations, and 13 UNITE general-interest meetings.
If you were a user delegate or user speaker to the 2021 Conference, your paid registration for the conference entitles you to a full membership on the unite.org web site for the next 12 months. This membership includes access to the Conference Presentation Archive for 2021 and earlier years, access to the UNITE 2021 session recordings, plus other materials not available to Community Access members and the general public.
The 2021 Presentation Archive is available now. It lists the complete agenda for the conference with links to individual pages for each session. Each session page shows the presentation abstract and speaker information, a link to a PDF of the presentation slides if any, and the text of the chat messages captured by Zoom. Curation and post-processing of the conference recordings has been completed and the recording can be played on its session page of the 2021 Presentation Archive. An announcement of recordings availability was sent to conference attendees with paid registrations on March 23, 2022. A reminder email will be sent prior to the end of March.
Establishing a Full Membership
The remainder of this page describes how to establish or renew your membership or upgrade an existing Community Access membership in order to receive full benefits and be able to access the conference materials. Delegates with paid registrations should have received an email with a copy of the following instructions, along with a six-character coupon code. You will need that code to proceed further. If you do not have that code, please send an email to email@example.com and we will assist you.
Please note that due to registering for the 2021 Conference, you may also have an account on the UNITE Events site, uniteevents.org. That account and its Username are separate from your membership in the primary UNITE site, unite.org, and is not relevant to the discussion below.
The next step depends on your individual situation:
- If you presently do not have a Username on the unite.org site, go to Step 1 below.
- If you have a Username on the site but have forgotten the password, go to Step 2 below.
- If you can log on to the site and are not already logged on, do so now and then go to Step 3 below.
- If you are not sure whether you currently have a Username, or otherwise are unable to log on, please send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will assist you in determining your status.
Step 1: Not yet registered on the site.
In the "Become a member today…" section on the site's front page, click the green "join" icon or the "Apply..." link. Alternatively, select "Apply for Membership" from the Membership menu at the top of the page. These items show only when you are not logged on to the site.
On the Apply for Membership page, under "Checkout Options," select the "Individual Membership" option from the drop-down list. In the "Gift, Coupon, or Redemption Code" box below that enter the coupon code that was emailed to you, then click the Apply button. The page will show that the membership fee has been reduced to "$0.00 for 1 year." PLEASE do not share this code with anyone else.
Under "Create Profile," enter your first and last names, the email address you wish to associate with the account, and the Username you wish to use. Usernames must consist only of lower-case English letters and decimal digits. Your Username cannot be changed later.
Under "Additional Info," fill in at least the starred items. Fill in any of the other items as you wish.
Satisfy the reCAPTCHA check under "Security Verification" and then click the "Submit Form" button. This will establish your membership on the site and set its expiration to 12 months in the future.
The site will send you a confirming email. This "Welcome to UNITE" email will show your Username and include a link to set your password. After you set a password, you will see the message: "Your password has been reset. Log in." Do so with your new Username and password. You will now have full access to all features on the unite.org site. Take the opportunity to explore the site using its menus and links.
After 12 months, your account will automatically revert to a Community membership. It can be reinstated to full membership either by paying the annual fee or using a coupon code from a future conference.
Step 2: Lost password.
Click the Log in menu item at the top of the page.
On the resulting page, click the “Lost your password?” link below the box for entering Username and password.
On the next page, enter either your Username or the email address you used when originally registering on the site, then click the “Get New Password” button. This will not affect your existing password just yet.
If there is an existing account on the site matching that Username or email address, the site will send a message to the email address on file for that account. That message will include a link you can use to reset your password.
If the site does not find a matching account, no email will be sent, even though the page indicates you should check for one. If no email arrives at the email address for your account within 5 to 10 minutes, you can either go to Step 1 above and create a new membership account and Username or you can send an email requesting assistance to email@example.com.
Use the link in the email message to reset your password, then log on to the site in the normal fashion. After that, go to Step 3.
Step 3: Renew or update your membership.
This step assumes you can log on to the unite.org site. From the "Account" menu, select "Change or Renew Membership."
On the resulting Apply for Membership page, under "Checkout Options," select the "Individual Membership" option from the drop-down list. In the "Gift, Coupon, or Redemption Code" box below that enter the coupon code that was emailed to you, then click the Apply button. The page will show that the membership fee has been reduced to "$0.00 for 1 year." PLEASE do not share this code with anyone else.
Under "Create Profile," you may update your first and last names if you wish. Your email address and Username will be shown but cannot be updated on this page. Satisfy the reCAPTCHA check under "Security Verification" and then click the "Submit Form" button. This will extend the expiration of your full membership for 12 months.
The site will send you a confirming email. If your existing full membership had not yet expired, it will be extended by 12 months beyond its current expiration. If you previously had a Community membership, it will be upgraded to a full membership. In any case, after expiration your account will automatically revert to a Community membership. It can be reinstated to full membership either by paying the annual fee or using a coupon code from a future conference.
