Based on our experience organizing and managing the UNITE and predecessor Unisys Users conferences over the past 40+ years, it became clear that economic and business conditions this year have impacted both our conference attendance and the availability of speakers to deliver quality presentations to the User Community.
We worked very hard to identify and recruit speakers to deliver interesting and useful presentations so you could enjoy a quality conference experience. During this year’s effort, we did receive support and commitment from Unisys to provide six presentations of value and we recruited several others from members of the UNITE and User Community. Unfortunately, we could not obtain an adequate number of quality sessions.
This coupled with the unexpected lack of attendee registrations, due to the aforementioned economic and business uncertainty, meant diminished attendee and speakers interactions and potentially reduced the value of the Conference experience.
Further, we did not see a realistic potential for acquiring additional speakers and quality sessions at least through the end of this year, so slipping the conference a month or two would not improve the situation sufficiently to justify proceeding.
Withdrawing the 2025 Conference was not an easy decision but we plan to continue delivery of quality and timely topic presentations to the UNITE User Community in a webinar format starting this September. Please see the page “Webinar Planning” for further information.
